I think LIVE builds a really special relationship with its fans and I’m really excited to see the way it grows. To be able to play with the community of LIVE players and get the chance to all grind for a common goal, prizes, all that, it’s really special. Taking a step back and just looking as a fan, it’s so great to see the game bringing in iconic brands for events like Livestrike. Rahul: This emphasis on trying to connect with the community is awesome. Being a Laker fan, it seems like I have a new challenge every year!ĬG: What sets live apart from other basketball games Plus, I’m a big franchise guy – I love the feeling of building dynasties and winning rings.

My relationship with NBA LIVE goes back a long time because they were always the gold standard and, as a young NBA fan, that was one of the ways that I really learned the game. Rahul: Oh, man! It was a while ago – either the 2005 cover with Carmelo Anthony or the 2006 cover with Dwyane Wade. I don’t see many places doing that all in the lens of a video game and that’s amazing to look back at.ĬG: When did you start playing NBALive and why did you fall in love with the series? Being able to combine both basketball and video games to talk all about a player’s ability and skill set is something so cool and unique. Because of that, when you write about one, you’re always referencing the other. Rahul: When you take into account Playstyles and player traits, they so closely mimic the player’s actual game. I love to give credit where credit is due.ĬG: What do you like most about writing those articles?
#NBA LIVE 18 LIVESTRIKE SERIES#
That’s probably my favorite series of articles I’ve done to this point because it actually commemorates the NBA Players of the Week. My background comes from sports analysis for a number of newsroom-style companies where I would provide everyday content so I wanted to find a way that I could combine aspects of the video game experience along with real-life basketball knowledge. Rahul: That was actually something we thought of right away. Being able to have the opportunity to get down on those courts is something truly special.ĬG: When did you start the “How to play like” series for EA? When you think of The Drew, it’s more than just basketball – that’s a place that kept people of all walks of life safe by giving a sanctuary and a passion. When you think of Rucker, it’s not just Kareem but it’s Earl Manigualt and Pee Wee Kirkland. in the game, it takes you to some of the legends who made their names at those courts. When you look at the way the developers have been able to integrate the legendary leagues like Rucker, The Drew, Dyckman, etc. Real hoops’ culture goes way deeper than sell-out arenas and million-dollar contracts. Rahul: NBA LIVE 18 is dope for a number of reasons but I think the thing I like the most is the fact that it goes beyond just the NBA. CG: What do you like most about NBALive18?
